Mmm, beer
Lagunitas Maximus - 04.25.11
They call this an IPA, an IPA with an 8.6% alcohol level. Amusingly, it tastes a lot like the Full Sail Boardhead Barleywine - which I noted for being greatly IPAish. It's full of delicious honeylike malts with a well-accompanied bite of hops on the tail end. For an IPA, it's surprisingly thick, too; I would definitely label this an imperial or a double - but whatever the name is, it is delicious.

Goose Island Demolition - 04.12.11
A tangy and tart Belgian-style golden ale that has a bit of that farmhouse ale flavor and lightness but with ample more going on to keep you interested. A fantastic, rounded beverage.

Full Sail Imperial Porter - 03.18.11
I don't even know where to start with this; it is simply a quintessential porter. I am not sure what makes it Imperial - wait, let me check alcohol level - enh, 7.5%, nothing huge. Deep coffee roast flavors, rich hops blending with mild malts - it just doesn't get much better than this.

Stone Old Guardian - 03.14.11
This is another in the "what exactly *is* an american style barleywine" series. As such, it does quite well in a "whack you upside the head" sort of way. It delivers a truly massive payload of hops, followed by a massive payload of honey-like sweetness; the two have a party in your head and before you know it, you're asking for more.
Not the most subtle nor nuanced of barleywines, but it certainly is an experience.

Highway 78 Collaboration - 03.14.11
This is a Stone/Green Flash/Pizza Port collaboration - the first two names made me very excited, and the designation of scotch ale only more so.
However. Verdict: meh.
The end.
